- We produce excellent outcomes, including our Stage 3 students finishing in the top 10% of schools in the Maths Olympiad competition in 2024 and students achieving first in class honours across NSW as part of Aurora College. Lavington Public School has had more NSW AFL representatives than any other school in NSW, and our Dance Troupe has progressed to the Regional and State levels.

We offer students a wealth of resources and opportunities to help them thrive. From STEM, sports, arts and beyond, our broad curriculum and opportunities fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
- Students can participate in statewide public speaking, debating, writing and spelling competitions, the Maths Olympiad, STEM and robotics challenge days, and leadership opportunities.
- We promote achievement through representative sporting pathways, and take part in statewide knockouts, gala days and a local Primary School Sports Association competition.
- The school has a biennial whole school production and arts festival for all students, visiting performances, and a dance troupe, choir, guitar and band groups.
- Bungambrawatha Creek flows past our school and creates a range of nature-based learning opportunities.
Our diverse community
Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, and we celebrate this diversity at Lavington Public School to create well-rounded global citizens.
- 22% of our students come from a language background other than English, and 15% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. 5% of students come from a refugee background and 3% have been living in Australia for less than 12 months. Our students have 15 different countries of birth and 18 different language backgrounds, with the most common languages spoken being Swahili, Nepali and Urdu.
- We celebrate diversity and promote acceptance and belonging by coordinating events such as Harmony Day, Refugee Week, NAIDOC Week and Sorry Day.
- We offer students English as an Additional Language and/or Dialect support by employing staff from various cultures and language backgrounds to help them learn English.
- We work closely with our First Nations community, local AECG and Elders to offer enriching Aboriginal Education experiences in a culturally safe and inclusive environment.
Support for all learners
We support all learners at Lavington Public School with specialist educators, individualised learning plans, wellbeing services and additional support to ensure all of our students thrive at school.
- We have a dedicated team of teachers using evidence-based learning strategies to teach explicitly in all key learning areas.
- We provide reasonable adjustments and personalised learning programs to cater for the individual needs of all learners.
- We offer a small group tuition program for students requiring addition support.
- We cater for high potential and gifted students through the provision of challenging learning tasks and a range of extra-curricular learning opportunities in the intellectual, physical, creative and social/emotional domains.
- We make sure students are fully prepared to thrive in high school. We have transition programs with Murray High School and can facilitate transition programs for other local High Schools.
